7 Yoga Poses to Balance Your Chakras

What are chakras? Chakras are the centers of spiritual power in the human body, there are 7 known chakras: crown chakra, brow-chakra, throat chakra, heart chakra, solar plexus chakra, sacral chakra, and base chakra. There are numerous amounts of yoga poses but in this blog I will go over poses that specifically target the desired chakras.



Chakra Yoga Poses

Lets start with our first chakra which is the crown chakra. Our crown chakra is the highest chakra and represents our ability to be fully connected spiritually. For this chakra the best yoga pose would be the corpse pose. This pose is great for lifting your mood and detaching from any egos.

The third eye chakra or the brow chakra is responsible for allowing us to see the bigger picture. This is also very well known as the third eye. A great pose to open this chakra would be the easy pose.

Following the third eye would be the throat chakra. This chakra is responsible for allowing us to be outspoken and giving us the capability of finding our voice. The throat chakra helps us communicate our emotions in a healthy way. A great pose for this chakra would be the supported shoulder stand.

Heart Chakra is the next and this chakra is one of the most important chakras because it connects the bottom three chakras. The heart chakra has the ability to give and receive love from ourselves and others. Camel pose is the best pose to channel your heart chakra.

The solar plexus chakra speaks to your confident self and is in control of your life. The best pose to target this chakra is the boat pose. This pose is great for fostering personal power.

Lastly we have the sacral chakra and the root chakra. The sacral chakra is responsible for informing yourself on your emotions and helps relate to your emotions and those of the others. The best pose for the sacral chakra would be the goddess pose. The root chakra represents our foundation and gives us the feeling of being grounded. Tree pose will help connect you to this chakra and will help you feel more alert, secure, and stable.
